The Smallest Roadworthy Car in the World

You've seen so many cars till today - both the big ones and the small ones. Probably you have a car of your own. But have you ever seen a car just about the size of a home washing machine? I'm not joking. It's the size of the smallest roadworthy car in the world - the Wind Up!

It looks like a circus trick, but this tiny set of wheels is the world's smallest roadworthy car. The mini motor started life as a Postman Pat children's ride. But car fanatic Perry Watkins has transformed it into the most compact car, if not most comfortable.

It took 7 months for Perry Watkins to build such a mini car and it was finished on 8th May, 2009. He reinforced the fiberglass shell with a steel frame and mounted it on a mini quad bike. He added mirrors, windscreen wipers, lights, mock racing exhaust pipes and go-faster flames.

The smallest car in the world measures only 41 inches in height, 51 inches in length and 26 inches in width. The car is registered in tax class PLG and has Insurance and road tax. The car conforms with all construction and use regulations and has all the usual car features such lights, indicators, brake lights, washers, wipers, etc. It's officially recorded in the Guinness Book of World Records as the smallest car in the world.

This smallest roadworthy car in the world has a top speed of 40 mph and its fuel consumption rate is 70 mpg. Would you like to have a ride on this smallest car? Be careful. It's not so easy to ride on such a small car.
