World's Thinnest Laptop - Acer's Aspire S5 Ultrabook

It is Acer Aspire S5 Ultrabook that wins the battle for the time.The Taiwan based computer titan has unveiled the world's thinnest laptop which is only 15mm thick at its widest point.


Acer unveiled the world's thinnest laptop at the Consumer Electronics Show in Las Vegas in January this year. The Acer Aspire S5 is some 15mm thick at its widest point and weighs less than 1.35kg. On its way to size-zero battle it has dethroned the previous title holder for the thinnest laptop in the world - Apple's MacBook Air.

The Acer Aspire S5 may be slimmer but the size doesn't prevent it from performing the functions you need in a laptop. Under the hood of Aspire S5 is a brand new, third-generation Intel Core i7 processor, clocked at 1.9GHz. The Acer Aspire S5 is equipped with a 128GB SSD drive, which enables super-fast boot times, and you can expect the system to be responsive in less than 10 seconds.

It has a 13.3-inch LCD, has an instant-resume functionality of 1.5 seconds and battery life that lasts several weeks in sleep state. The S5 Ultrabook has a black magnesium-aluminum alloy cover and is powered by Windows 8 operating system. The thinnest laptop in the world is as good as any other laptops of bigger size and in some cases it's even better in performance.
