When you start to restore a classic Corvette, one of the initial cosmetic jobs can involve restoring the headlight assembly. Unlike some other cars, the Corvette has a headlight assembly that you can take completely out of the front of the car before beginning restoration.
Instructions
- 1
Remove the wiring from the motor that opens the headlight. This will make it much simpler to maneuver the headlight without endangering the wire mounting.
2Take out the mounting screws with your hex-head screwdriver. The size will depend on the year and model.
3Remove the socket using either a 10 mm or 13 mm socket, depending on the year and model.
4Remove the screws on the bottom of the headlight assembly. The head of the screws will vary based on year and model.
5Slide the assembly out and place it on a flat surface. To begin disassembling the assembly, remove the cotter pin with a hammer.
