How to Install GTI Golf Splash Guards

If you live in an area that receives a lot of rain or snow, installing splash guards on your Volkswagen GTI Golf is an smart idea. Splash guards help protect the underside of your Volkswagen vehicle from dirt or mud that can cause rust or other damages. Installation is quick and painless and should not take you more than an hour to complete. Splash guards are also fairly inexpensive and can be purchased from your local Volkswagen dealership or through an online automotive store.

    Lift the Golf with a jack. Place jack stands underneath the front of the Golf to support it.

    Remove all of the wheels. Use a wheel wrench to remove the nuts from the wheels and pull the wheels off.

    Remove the screws from each of the wheel wells using a Phillips screwdriver.

    Place the splash guards onto the wheel well and firmly press it against the Golf. The splash guard should simply snap into place.

    Reattach all of the screws to the wheel well to help secure the Golf's splash guards.

    Reattach the Golf's wheels, remove the jack stands and lower the Golf.
