Pontiac introduced the Grand Prix in 1962 and discontinued it in 2008. Over that time, the car went through seven generations and numerous ground-up redesigns. The 2000 Grand Prix offered driver's fog lights -- smaller lights below the headlights aimed at a lower angle so as not to diffuse in heavy fog conditions -- to aid in visibility during inclement weather. If the fog light bulb burns out, you'll need to rely on normal headlights that actually decrease visibility in fog due to the light diffusion, until you change the bulb.
Instructions
- 1
Slide under the front bumper where the burned-out fog light mounts. Reach up behind the fog light and grab the socket.
2Depress the socket retainer with your thumb and forefinger. Turn the socket 1/4 turn counterclockwise. Pull the socket backward to remove it from the bumper cover.
3Pull the old bulb out of the fog light socket and discard it. Plug the new 880 fog light bulb into the socket.
4Position the new bulb and socket into the bumper cover, ensuring the three tabs on the socket slide through the three associated slots in the bumper cover. Turn the socket and bulb 1/4 turn clockwise to lock them into place. Climb out from under the Grand Prix.
