Galaxy S4 - Samsung's New Smartphone

Smartphone market has become more competitive than ever before. It's just more than half a year that the Samsung Galaxy S3 came in market and now it faces some stiff competition from the like of the Google Nexus 4. As a result Samsung needs a new phone fairly soon to win the battle of the smartphone market. Though there's no specific news from Samsung, rumors have started to spread regarding the next Samsung phone and it's probably going to be Galaxy S4.

Specifications also have started to flow and according to some sources the Galaxy S4 will include a 5 inch Full HD display with an impressive 1920x1080 resolution. If that's true then the display would boast an impressive pixel density of around 440 PPI. This is significantly above the resolution of Apple's Retina display technology.

Everyone is expecting Samsung to include all of the latest technologies in its new handset. Thus it is expected that the new Galaxy S4 will have wireless charging built in. This technology, of charging your handset without the need to connect a charging cable, is becoming increasingly popular. For example: Nokia Lumia 920 includes wireless charging built into the phone.

Samsung applied for a patent in July last year that describes a technology that combines wireless power with a modulated carrier signal - allowing the handset to communicate with the charging mat or stand. If this technology allows data, we can expect much more extra features from Samsung.
