Installing a new radio on Subaru Impreza is fairly simple. The radio is held in place by a few screws. Once you unfasten those screws, you can disconnect the Impreza radio electrical connector and pull it out, then install the new radio. It's a fairly simple task that should only take about twenty minutes to complete, though you do need to disconnect the battery before beginning the procedure in order to prevent a possible short circuit or accidental shock.
Instructions
- 1
Open the driver door of your Impreza. Locate the dash panel covering the radio and air circulation vents.
2Use both hands to pull the dash panel off of the radio. Be careful not to break the plastic dash panel.
3Use a small Phillips-head screwdriver to unfasten all four screws securing the Impreza radio. Pull the radio toward you, unplug its wiring connector and remove it from the vehicle.
4Push the new radio into the hole in the center of the central console and attach the wiring connector to the radio.
5Reinstall the four screws and push the dash panel back onto the radio, making sure it snaps into place.
