How to Remove the Driver's Door Panel on a 1993 Ford F150

Removing the drivers side door panel on a 1993 Ford F150 is a simple process for a do-it-yourself individual with basic tools. The 1993 F150 door panel is held in place with a series of inverted hooks on the rear of the panel that mate to their corresponding holes in the door. A series of screws around the three sides of the door secure the panel.

Instructions

    1

Remove the Phillips screw in the plastic concealment cover behind the inside door handle. Use the small pocket screwdriver to pry the cover out of the door panel. The cover uses small plastic tabs to secure it in place. Be careful not to break them when removing the cover by getting overzealous.

    2

Pry the window switch panel out of the door panel using the small pocket screwdriver. Disconnect the electrical connectors. Remove the single bolt now exposed by the removal of the window switch with a socket.

    3

Remove all the Phillips screws on both sides and bottom of the door panel. Lift the door panel up to remove the hooks from the door and move the panel away from the door just enough to reach behind it and disconnect the courtesy light. Remove the door panel.

    4

Install the door panel by holding the panel close to the door and installing the wiring connector to the courtesy light. Hold the door panel against the door with the top of the panel 2 inches higher than the door. Lower the panel so the top wraps around the sill and the hooks enter the holes in the door.

    5

Install the screws and the bolt behind the window switch. Install the electrical connectors to the back of the window switch panel. Push the window switch into its opening in the door panel. Place the cover to the inside door handle in position behind the handle and snap it in. Install the single Phillips screw.
