How to Install a New Headliner in S-10

The headliner of your Chevrolet S10 is the material lining the inside of the roof. If it is damaged, dirty or sagging or you simply want to install a better-looking headliner, you can easily do so in a matter of minutes. The headliner is held in place by a few tabs. Once those are released, you can remove the headliner and replace it.

Instructions

    1

Turn off the S10's engine and remove the keys from the ignition.

    2

Take off the sun-visors from both sides of the vehicle to allow more room for maneuvering the headliner. Push the headliner toward the windshield, disengaging the small metal clip at the rear of the headliner. Disengage the three front clips as well.

    3

Use a wire-grill brush to clean the headliner board once you have removed it. Remove the old headliner material and use adhesive to attach the new material. Rub the material onto the board, getting rid of any bubbles.

    4

Use an X-acto knife or other similar blade to trim the material around the edge of the board, leaving 2 inches of space between the material and the edge. Allow a few minutes for the adhesive to dry.

    5

Slide the headliner board back into the S10. Secure all four clips to the board.
