How to Wire a Fisher Snow Plow

Some snow storms are too heavy for push-style snow throwers to handle and actual snow plows are needed to clear driveways and streets. Fisher Engineering manufactures portable snow plows that mount to the front of pickup trucks or sport utility vehicles. Fisher plows physically mount to the pickup truck with pins, attachment arms and push plates. However, the Fisher plow also has to be wired electrically in order for the "Fish Stik" hand-held control to work.

Instructions

    1

Open the hood of the pickup truck the plow will be mounted on and remove the negative and positive battery cables with an adjustable wrench.

    2

Attach the snow plow's battery cable to the positive terminal of the pickup truck, fit the battery's positive battery cable over it and tighten them both.

    3

Re-attach the pickup's negative battery cable.

    4

Turn the vehicle key to the "On Accessory" position and press the "On/Off" button on the hand controller to test the connection.
