How to Remove a 1969 Dodge Dart's Windows

If the windows in your 1969 Dodge Dart become damaged, you will need to remove them from your vehicle in order to have them repaired or replaced. Removing the window yourself can save you a money in potential added mechanic's labor fees. While this may seem like a rather daunting task, if you have basic mechanic skills and the proper tools, it is one which can be completed easily in about an hour.

Instructions

    1

Park the vehicle in a safe location away from traffic. Open up the door with the damaged window and locate the screws fixed to the inner door panel. Remove them with a Phillips-head screwdriver, pry off the panel and lift it from the door.

    2

Take the screws out of the door handle and the trim found around the handle. Pull them both away from the door. Peel back the water deflector by using your fingers to pull it away from the door.

    3

Move the window to its lowest possible point by moving the window regulator which it is connected to it to the bottom of the access panel.

    4

Use a hex wrench to remove the hex bolts which connect the window to the regulator. Disconnect the window from the regulator.

    5

Pull the window out of the door frame. Take care when doing this to make sure you do not injure your hands. You may want to wear protective gloves when removing the window.
