How to Install Mustang Window Trim

New window trim can make a big difference in the appearance of your Mustang, since as your Mustang ages, the sun does irreparable damage to your window trim. While you can protect it with special cleaning solutions, once it has been damaged, you cannot repair it, and your only option at that point is to replace it. Once you have the trim off the window, you'll need to know how to install it properly so that it is secured to the window.

Instructions

    1

Lay the glass you are working with on a flat surface.

    2

Wrap the rubber portion of the trim around the outer edges of the glass unit. Make sure that the rubber lays flat against the glass edge and that the inner groove fits snugly over the glass edge.

    3

Work the trim around the outer groove of the rubber trim. Shape the trim so that it lays flat against the rubber. You may need to use WD40 to make it easier to fit the trim into the groove on the rubber trim. A set of IRWIN grip clamps may help you in forcing the trim into the outer groove on the rubber.

    4

Clean any excess WD40 off with a clean rag.
