When Chevrolet designed the 1991 S-10 Blazer, they didnt include a dedicated fuel pump shut off switch on the vehicle. Instead, the proper way to disable the fuel pump for repairs or testing is by disconnecting the fuel pump relay. The fuel pump relay is located on the backright side of the engines firewall, next to the A/C relay. The fuel pump will not run when the fuel pump relay is disconnected, serving the same purpose as a shut of switch on other vehicles.
Instructions
- 1
Shut down the Blazers engine and apply the parking brake.
2Open the hood and locate the fuel pump relay. Its screwed to the back-right corner of the firewall, shaped like a small cube, and on the left side of a two-relay bundle.
3Depress the locking tab on the fuel pump relays electrical connector and gently wiggle the connector loose.
4Perform your repairs or tests, and then reconnect the fuel pump relays electrical connector.
