If the windows on your 2003 Ford F-350 are operating more slowly than usual, two possible issues are the cause. Either something is obstructing the window, preventing it from rising and lowering properly, or the motor is going bad and will need to be replaced. In both situations, you must remove the interior door panel of the F-350. Thankfully, it should take no more than half an hour to complete this task.
Instructions
- 1
Lift up the F-350's hood and use a socket wrench to disconnect the battery from the vehicle.
2Open the door with the slow window. Use a slotted screwdriver to remove all of the clips securing the interior door panel. There are a total of nine clips along the edge of the panel.
3Remove the panel from the door. Disconnect its two wiring connectors.
4Use your hand to feel around the regulator linkage and the window vent assembly for any objects that may be impeding the window's movement. If there is anything, such as a rock or dirt, remove it.
5Remove the two screws securing the regulator motor to the regulator itself using a Phillips screwdriver. Disconnect the motor's wiring connector.
6Plug the new motor to the regulator and reconnect its wiring connector and screws.
7Reattach the door panel and clips. Reconnect the door panel's wiring connector.
8Reconnect the F-350's battery and close the hood.
