The Honda Odyssey is the Japanese manufacturer's minivan option. The braking system in the Odyssey includes rear drum brakes that may need to be adjusted at times. If rear brakes wear down, it will take longer for the brakes to create friction to slow you down. Fortunately, the Odyssey has a mechanism that allows it to self-adjust.
Instructions
- 1
Pull up on your parking brake as far as you can.
2Push the parking brake release button and lower, or release, the parking brake.
3Repeat this several times with no pause in between. At least 10 times works the best.
4Push your foot down on the brake. The brake should have more tension when pushed. If it does not, repeat the process. Once the brakes are more firm to the push, they have been adjusted.
5Drive your car in reverse and stop the car by pressing firmly on the brakes several times. Put the car back in park and apply pressure to the brake. If the adjustment is successful, the brake should be firmer.
