DNS Doesn't Have to Mean "Downed Net Summer"

To my Windows-using friends, you need to read this, follow it's advice and then thank OpenDNS and CloudFlare for fixing a problem of such magnitude. Don't wait until July 9th and then wonder why you don't have Internet access--fix this now.
