There was much anticipation and commotion among car enthusiasts right from the moment when the Audi Q3 2012 was unveiled at Shanghai Motor Show this year. Soon after, car analysts drew extensive comparisons of the Audi Q3 2012 with other cars of the same segment and declared it as the most viable option to BMW X1 and Toyota Fortuner provided Audi it priced low in India.
Stated to be launched somewhere in 2012, the Audi Q3 2012 crossover would primarily be targeting the Indian urban class and may emerge as the cheapest option in the SUV segment. It is the compact size yet spacious character of Audi Q3 that is what Audi is pushing forth to create market for the Audi Q3 2012.
The standard high end models of Audi Q3 comes with four-wheel drive however, Audi is pushing the front wheel driven 2 liter, 140 Bhp, TDI Diesel engine variant for its global customers. This variant will be a budget model that is also fuel efficient and affordable to maintain. Besides this the Audi Q3 2012 will be available with 170 Bhp 2 liter TDI engine and 2 liter TFSI engine options as well.
The proposed launch of the Audi Q3 2012 has also triggered BMW to rethink the options in BMW X1 and come out with smaller and more fuel efficient variant for India. Still as far as performance is concerned, the 1500 kg Audi Q3 2012 may have to fall short of BMW X1 Diesel but still its space and practicality may outshine its rival.
