Decide the location where you will set up car amplifier. Make sure that the location you decide has a good airflow. After confining the position, make purchase of a small fan so as to keep the amplifier cool. Mount the fan so that the air current blows into the amplifier.

Mount the amplifier to the car after choosing position so that it does not slide around. The amplifier should come with metal feet for mounting, If it is not the case, go for any mounting kit available at most stores. Removal of some upholstery from your car may be required so that you are able to graft the amplifier to the body for better securing. After doing that, use a permanent marker to mark where the legs of your amplifier touch the metal of the car, which will be served as reminders when you start drilling. Drill holes where you marked with bits smaller than the width of the screw. Mount your amplifier and screw it on.

Measure the distance between the amplifier and the car battery and add a few inches to allow for the route. That measurement is what you will need to cut the power wire to. Connect one end to the positive feed of the battery and the other to the positive feed of the amplifier. Well plan the routings before connection of the two ends. The wire is required to connect the battery and the amplifier without in the way.

Wires need to connect with negative feed. Attach one end of the wire to the negative feed of the amplifier and the other to the car's chassis. The length of the wire must be short for the purpose of reducing outside interference, such as a radio broadcast.

Install a final wire, which is also known as the remote-line' and allows the driver or passenger to turn on or off the amplifier. You can mount an on-off switch for your amplifier in several ways. First way is to connect it to an external switch with a switch or button and mount it on the dashboard for easy access. Another way is to direct wire it to the ignition switches on the inside of the steering column. The majority of car stereos feature a remote radio output. You can connect your remote line to the radio output so that the amplifier only switches on when you turn your car stereo on. Select your on-off switch you like.

Attach the fan to the remote line so that the fan turns on when the amplifier powers up.

Connect the speakers to the amplifier after turning to instructions that come with both the speakers and the amplifier at this point.
