How to install a new jeep cherokee CB radio

CB is short for Citizens Band, a range of radio frequencies which the general public is allowed to make use of to send messages to each other. It is frequently used by truck drivers and drivers who use radio sets in their vehicles. Having the CB installed in the vehicle is cool and enables you to send your messages to others easier than having to yell out of the window loudly or stopping and waiting to communicate.

The following passage we Oem Car Gps will tell you how to install CB radio in  Jeep Cherokee.

First of all, install the CB under the glove box with one of the screws on the bottom of the glove box. One of those screws are used for the purpose of support, another screw should be put into the bottom of the glove box as that the CB can be fixed and does not easily move. Run the wiring right behind the carpet and over to the fuse box. Hook to the fuse which is switched with the ignition and then ground it to the body by the fuse box.

For the installation part of the antenna, it is somewhat complicated and perplexing. So I try to make it a fender installation. Measure how long the original AM/FM antenna was on the side of the passenger. Drill a hole in the same spot on the side of the driver. After that, hollow it out to 7/8" and then file it out to approximately 1 1/8". Then it will fit. Go for the black trim piece that is installed to the fender. The following piece as shown is the base of an antenna. Then use an antenna kit coming with radio shack.

I bought a 3 foot Firestik antenna and assembled all the pieces. Access the fender from the bottom side through the wheel well. Pull the inner piece back and you can reach all the way up the fender.

Make a rear strap piece in U shape for the whole assembly to screw through the center. Mount it in the hole. This step is simple quite the same with the installation of a regular antenna. Seal around the edges with JB Weld and then paint it with black color.
After the above step mentioned, you have finished the installation and test it to see if it works normally.
