How to Install car dvd gps on BMW 3 Series

The first step
  • First check the vehicle simply, including check of the electronic devices ( car stereo), interior decoration and exterior paint, so as to see if there is anything wrong or scratches! Inspect  the car before you do the installation.
  • Take protective measures before you install the DVD player. Protect the gear shifting device and the cigarette lighter, because they can be touched or moved during the installation.
The second step

Take appropriate protective measures at the bottom of the air-conditioning before you dismount the panel. Lift the middle points of the left and right sides of the air-conditioning panel as shown below. When you pry the panel off, you have to pay attention that the air-conditioning panel and the air-conditioning assembly are separate. Lift the air-conditioning assembly and don’t pry the air-conditioning panel off directly.

After prying the air-conditioning panel off, unplug the air-conditioning assembly. Then unscrew the CD player and pull the CD player out.
Dismount the air-conditioning panel, unplug the air-conditioning assembly. Pay attention to the metal clips on the left and right sides!

Unscrew the two Phillips screws of the CD player at the lower left and right corners. Then pull out the CD player!

Disconnect the power plug behind the CD player and the plug of the radio aerials.

Disconnection finished

Take off the plastic bracket frame behind the CD player. Six screws are shown in the picture as follow. 4 of them are T20 screws, 2 of them are turnbuckles (no.8).
Unscrew the 2 turnbuckles (no.8). (show as the photos blow)

After the removal, the bracket dismounted is not needed, because the DVD comes with its metal bracket panel!

The metal bracket panel for DVD. Pay attention to the metal prop of the bracket panel which is used to fix the two metal panels with the specific small screws.
Fix the two bracket panels with small copper tube and screw them on with the small screws.

Mount the metal bracket panel of DVD to the position where the factory CD bracket panel is dismounted. Screw the 4 T20 screws on.

The second step: Wiring
Connect the power plugs of DVD player and the CD player



Wiring and Caution
  • A:  Connect the reversing detection line of the DVD power plug with the reversing line of the DVD audio plug.
  • B:  Connect the brake cable of the DVD power plug with the black cable (ground wire) of DVD audio plug.
  • C:  Connect the 15cm long transferring line of the DVD radio aerial adaptor plug with factory original radio plug.
  • D:  Connect the audio left & right inputs between the DVD power plug and the DVD audio plug!
  • E:  Connect the reversing video plug with the reversing video input plug of DVD audio plug!
  • F:  Connect the multi-functional converter box of the steering wheel with the steering wheel plug of the DVD power harness.
  • G: You don’t need to connect the rest of the audio cables, video cables, radio cables and the lines for the small light and it is not needed to pull the reversing line from the trunk. Just reach the reversing line for car camera.
Dismount the storage compartment on the right so as to make it easier to place the IPOD and USB disk wires. Do it from the back cover of the storage compartment.
Lift off the panel of the cup stands. Remove the two cup stands by unscrewing the 4 Phillips screws. Then take off the storage compartment, which can make it easier to place the IPOD/ USB disk wires.  (show as the photo blow)

Steps to dismount the storage compartment
  • A:  Dismount the board at the bottom of the storage compartment, two T20 screws are at the left and right corners of the board.
  • B:  Unscrew the screws at the bottom of the storage compartment which are used to fix the bracket, four T20 screws at the bottom of the storage box.
  • C:  Open the storage compartment. Pry off the plastic clips of the hydraulic tube on the left. Then take off the cover of storage compartment.
  • D:  Unscrew the six T20 screws.
  • E:  Lift off the cup stand and decoration board of the storage compartment as shown in the picture. Unscrew the Phillips screws of the two cup stands on left and right sides, totally 4 screws.
  • F: Dismount the back shield of the storage compartment.
Pry the 6 plastic clips of the board in the trunk open. Unscrew the 2 Phillips screws at the bottom.
Lift six plastic clip off.

Cautions:
Removal of the board finished.

Lead to extension cable of the camera through the hose to the right side of the trunk.
Lead the extension cable of the reversing camera through the hose.

Dismount the clip switch base and reach the position of the clip base. Take off the switch.
Original clip switch
  • After taking down the original clip switch base of the trunk then take off the switch. Mount the switch to the camera clip.

Take off the switch

Mount the original clip switch to the clip base of the camera. Cut off the spare part of the camera switch as shown in the picture, or else you can not mount it back to the car.
  • Mount the original clip switch to the exact place of the camera and cut off the spare plastic part, or else you can not mount it onto the car.

Install Car Camera
Take off the baseboard of the trunk. Lead the 5-meter long extension video line of the camera through the right side of the trunk. Then lead it from the right pedal through the left pedal to the unit.


The third step
Pry off the air-conditioning assembly. Then lift off the panel. After that, mount the air-conditioning panel specific for DVD player.Put away the factory original air-conditioning panel after removal since it is not needed in the following installation process.
Lift the panel which is marked with red circles.

Separate the air-conditioning panels.

Installation finished Effect

Install the air-conditioning assembly after mounting back the air-conditioning panel. Then mount the DVD player.
  • Remove the air conditioning panel. Mount the air conditioning panel specific for DVD to the air conditioning assembly.
  • Mount the air conditioning assembly. Then mount back the DVD player.

Replacement finished


Pay particular attention that choose the equal loudness in the setting after turning on the DVD player or else the sound of the speakers can not be loud enough.

Troubleshooting
   If no finding of the navigation software, then first click the main menu, second choose settings, third click navigation settings, fourth select the blue folder on the right NaviOne folder, Navione.exe.
