Something to Think About: If The World Were Only 100 People

The World as 100 People

If The World Were 100 People, There Would Be:
  1. 57 Asians
  2. 21 Europeans
  3. 14 from North and South America
  4. 8 Africans
  5. 52 would be female
  6. 48 would be male
  7. 70 would be non-white, 30 white
  8. 59% of the entire world's wealth would belong to only 6 people and all 6 would be citizens of the United States
  9. 80 would live in substandard housing
  10. 70 would be unable to read
  11. 50 would suffer from malnutrition
  12. 1 would be near death
  13. 1 would be near birth
  14. Only 1 would have a college education
  15. 99 of them will not see this message, because only 1 would have a computer.
When one considers our world from such a compressed perspective, the need for both acceptance, and understanding becomes glaringly apparent.
