An important part of writing is getting into character. I don't have the patience to spend 10, 15 minutes doing this so I take a minute to meditate with a focus point like the one I found on YouTube. Clearing out my thoughts, worries, distractions and becoming my character can happen in one good minute. Although sometimes I need another minute or two to make it stick and feel comfortable beginning writing for the day.
