My clients Eddie & Carl from Resolution Homes, are undertaking their most exciting development to date 'The Orangery' Stockgrove Park, Leighton Buzzard.
Resolution Homes prides themselves on utilising and installing the most up to date eco products to reduce.carbon footprints and provide clients with modern and economical ‘green’ properties.
The properties have been built largely out of ‘Insulating Concrete Form’ blocks giving a U value vastly greater than that of a normal block and brick built home.
With this added to the technology mentioned below this will bring the properties very close to the ultimate goal of being a ‘passive house’.
The typical eco specification will be:
6000 litre rainwater harvesting systems that will supply water to the toilets, washing machine and garden taps. This offers a potential 50% reduction in water bills.
Air Source Heat Pumps (ASHP) take heat from the outside air and use it to fully heat the property and also provides the hot water. This is at a vastly reduced rate to a standard gas boiler system.
Photovoltaic solar panels that capture the suns energy via PV cells and converts it into energy to run the home. Any unused electricity can also be sold back to the national grid.
Heat Recovery system which recovers 60-70% of the heat that is normally lost and re uses it. In addition it also ventilates the home by continually replacing the damp air with fresh, warmed and cleaned filtered air.
A number of these products come under the Renewable Heat Incentive Scheme announced in October 2010 and also Feed in Tariffs that will result in you getting paid for the heat that you generate or energy that you produce. This will vastly reduce the annual cost of your utility bills!!
