Call for Submissions

Two anthologies from Storm Moon Press

Deadline: November 30th, 2010

Payment: $0.013 per word (based on final, edited word count) paid upon publication, plus a PDF copy of the e-book, and two contributor copies of the print book.

Wild Passions

Other worlds, other planes of existence, other places where humans are not the only type of creature to walk and talk. Human-like animals populate the new anthology from Storm Moon Press!

We are looking for male/male romance stories involving at least one partner that is an anthropomorphic animal; that is, a humanoid, bi-pedal creature with human intelligence and some animal features. For example, tail, ears, claws, changes to eyes and/or teeth, even fur, feathers, or scales, are all acceptable. We do not want, however, shapeshifters, mythical creatures that part human-part animal, or full animal forms. Acceptable genres for this anthology would be contemporary (urban) fantasy, high fantasy, or science fiction. The stories do not need to be explicit in nature, but romance is required.

Length of submissions should be between 10,000 and 15,000 words.

Only short stories that still have their First English language rights still attached will be considered, and we do ask for exclusive electronic and print rights for two years, at which time, all rights revert. We do not accept simultaneous submissions.

Payment is $0.013 per word (based on final, edited word count) paid upon publication, plus a PDF copy of the e-book, and two contributor copies of the print book.

We are accepting submissions from August 1st, 2010 until November 30th, 2010. Acceptance notifications and contracts will be issued during the month of December. All content to be featured in "Wild Passions" will be edited. Planned release for both the e-book and print book is June 17th, 2011.

Daughters of Artemis

Werewolf lore has been long dominated by the strong alpha male, but what of the strong alpha females? The Storm Moon Press anthology "Daughters of Artemis" explores this long neglected aspect of the werewolf mythos.

In this anthology, we're looking for female/female erotic romance stories with at least one partner being a strong werewolf in a position of authority. This may be a pack leader, a council member, one of the tribe elders, or any other similar position. We would prefer urban fantasy or urban horror in a contemporary or historical setting. Please, no sex scenes in which the characters are in full animal form. Full human or partial shift is all right, but nothing more bestial than that. The stories do not need to be explicit in nature, but romance is required.
