Google Earth Outreach, the program that helps non-profit and charitable organizations learn to use Google's mapping technology, will be holding two special events for NGOs and public benefit organizations in East Africa in October and November. During both events, participants will hear first-hand from our partners who have used Google Earth as part of their campaigns, explore Google Earth layers created by other public benefit organizations, and learn how to create their own maps with a focus on outreach and advocacy. In the hands-on workshops, charitable and public benefit organizations will learn how to use Google Earth, Google Maps and SketchUp to tell their stories and bring their causes to life. No prior mapping experience is required.
The NGO events will take place on Oct. 30 in Kampala, Uganda at the AfricaGIS conference, and on November 5 in Nairobi, Kenya.

We are also accepting applications for individuals and organizations to become trainers in Google Earth and Maps through our Train the Trainers program. This 2-day workshop will equip you with the knowledge and materials to hold your own workshop in Google Earth and Maps. Google Earth Outreach désormais disponible en Afrique de l’Est !
Google Earth Outreach, le programme qui permet aux organismes à but non lucratif et caritatifs de se familiariser avec la technologie de mappage de Google, organise au mois d’octobre et de novembre deux manifestations spéciales pour les ONG et les organisations d’utilité publique en Afrique de l’Est. Au cours de ces deux manifestations, les participants pourront bénéficier de l’expérience acquise par nos partenaires qui ont utilisé Google Earth dans le cadre de leurs campagnes, explorer les calques Google Earth créés par d’autres organisations d’utilité publique et apprendre à créer leurs propres cartes visant à informer et à sensibiliser le public. Grâce aux ateliers, les organisations caritatives et d’utilité publique apprendront à utiliser Google Earth, Google Maps et SketchUp pour expliquer leurs objectifs et donner vie à leurs projets. Aucune expérience préalable du mappage n’est requise.
Les manifestations destinées aux ONG auront lieu le 30 octobre à Kampala, Ouganda, dans le cadre de la conférence AfricaGIS, et le 5 novembre à Nairobi, Kenya.
