Transcend has announced the availability of its new 2.5" portable hard drive, the StoreJet 25F in India. It comes in capacities up to 500GB. LG ARENA SMARTPHONE HAS 3D INTERFACE
LG Electronics plans to launch its new flagship multimedia phone, called Arena, at next week's Mobile World Congress expo in Barcelona. The Arena KM900 handset features a new LG user interface based around the concept of a cube. The user can switch screens within the 3D interface by turning from one face of the cube to the next.

SAMSUNG TOUCH ULTRA PHONE SET FOR RELEASE
Samsung has unveiled its latest phone aimed at the full touchscreen end of the market that was ignited by Apple's iPhone. The Touch Ultra is a slider-type that has a 2.8in OLED screen with 240 pixel by 400 pixel (WQVGA) resolution. As with all sliders the bottom half of the phone's body can be slid down to reveal a keypad.

GOOGLE UNVEILS BOOK SEARCH FOR IPHONE
Google has made its Book Search function available to Apple iPhone and T-Mobile G1 users. It joins a growing group of network operators and content providers that are putting books on mobile phones. Google originally began digitising books to make them accessible over the web from a PC through its Book Search service.

MICROSOFT TO LAUNCH SMARTPHONE
Microsoft is thought to be using the Mobile Word Congress (MWC), which takes place in Barcelona this month, to launch a smartphone. According to Doug Freedman, an analyst at Broadpoint AmTech, the Microsoft-branded phone may include nVidia's Tegra processor and a telecommunications baseband chip from Qualcomm. Microsoft already sells the Zune portable media player, among other devices, so it isn't a stranger to the hardware business.
