NEW ANSWER on:
Can we migrate already encrypted data from SQL Server 2000 to MS SQL Server
2008

ANSWER from Mrdenny:
You will probably want to migrate the process that was used on the SQL 2000
server to encrypt and decrypt the data as well until you can get the navive SQL
2008 encryption/decryption working correctly. You may need to decrypt your
data and reencrypt your data if the SQL 2008 native encryption doesn...

NEW ANSWER on:
Data Area Lock issue in RPG ILE

ANSWER from Gilly400:

Hi,

I don't think what you want to do is going to be very easy to achieve.

What you may be able to do is find out which sessions have a lock on the data
area and either end the sessions using ENDJOB or send the sessions a message
requesting the users to exit their session or return to their ...

NEW ANSWER on:
How can I get my Dell Optiplex to see a USB keyboard DURING boot process? (So I
can get to the BIOS.)

ANSWER from Dales:
I would imagine to start with that your keyboard is not truly capable of being
a usb keyboard, just because you have a convertor doesnt mean it will work as
the keyboard still requires the hardware to tell the pc what it is.

So unless you are sure that the keyboard works with a convertor on anoth...

NEW DISCUSSION on:
What should our next contest be on ITKnowledgeExchange.com?

DISCUSSION from Mrdenny:
I think an interesting contest could be one where the poster who posts the
question which generates the most "useful" comments or replies gets rewarded.

Basically allowing the user base to decide which questions are the best based
on the number of comments which go with the question.

I am getting ORA-01422: Exact fetch returns more than requested number of rows

ANSWER from Carlosdl:
That error occurs in a SELECT ... INTO statement, when your query returns more
than one row.

Check your where clause, and make the necessary changes in order to ensure just
1 row is returned.

There is a predefined exception for that error. It is: too_many_rows.

If you know your query could...

ANSWER from Mrdenny:
Most RAID controllers will wipe the data when you recreate the volume.

In theory you can delete the array and if it is recreated with the disks in the
same order the logical volume will remain intact. I would NOT try this without
backing up the data on the array before hand. You will probably l...

What is the best & quickest way to get a networking job?

QUESTION from Labnuke99:
Comptia is a non-vendor specific program. It is likely the best (I did not say
easiest) basic training solution for general networking. You should learn
something about all of the other technologies you mention though to be a
valuable resource to any organization you work for.
