I recently had a client who couldn't get his quickbooks to open and stay open without throwing up an error before crashing and closing. Couldn't find anything on the error but realized that after opeing the program that it was hanging open for a good minute or 2 before giving the error. I noticed on the 3rd try that to the left in the open windows view there where HUNDREDS(not sure how many) of windows opening, so I quickly started closing them as fast as I could click. I clicked until the program stayed open and then realized the where all reports he had run and never closed. After I that I opened and closed a couple times to make sure and go the updates for QB as well.
The error he was getting was: qbw32.exe fatal application error (m=1188, l=3476 c=315, v=0(0x0)) Instructions @ 0x00401223 reterned memory at 0x048c073c memory could not be read.Who knows this may just be your fix for this same error, if not you should post so otheres will know what to do.
