Private Residence - This loft was originally two separate units that were fused into a single cohesive space. The aim of the designers was to create an environment in which the original structure and the new elements would complement each other. The existing floor and columns were sandblasted back to their original tone and texture, while new components in rich wood tones bring warmth to the once industrial space. In the main area of the loft, floor-length canvas curtains hang off of bars suspended from the ceiling and can be moved for a number of reconfigurations, or pulled apart to unify the area. As a result, Cecconi Simone created a place upon which the residents can put their own personal stamp; their lifestyle shapes how the space is used.
